  • Preschool 3's Lead Teacher:

    Bobbie was born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois. She has a BA in Guidance and Counseling from Bob Jones University. After receiving her degree and getting married, she and her husband moved to Greenfield, IN. She began working at an early childhood school as an assistant teacher. She has worked in 2-year-old - kindergarten classrooms and has been a lead teacher as well. She and her husband have 3 kids.

    Bobbie believes early childhood is a golden opportunity to teach children to love God and become lifelong learners. She likes to provide the class with fun, hands-on and play based learning.

    Ana was born and raised in Huntington, Indiana and has a degree in Elementary Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. After receiving her degree in 2017, she moved to Avon, Indiana and taught for four years in Brownsburg Community School Corporation with 2 years experience in both Kindergarten and First Grade. This will be her third year with Northpoint teaching Kindergarten. Ana and her husband, Zachary, have one precious little boy, named Calum, who is three years old. Growing up, Ana was very involved in her church community and incorporating her faith in learning has always been a desire of her heart. Ana and her husband both attend Traders Point Christian Church where her husband works as the Broadcast Video Director at the Northwest location. One of her main goals is to build long lasting, close relationships with parents and students, allowing each child to feel loved, valued, and accepted every day. She feels that winning the heart of a child is what allows each to pursue a passion for learning and soar academically.

    Michele grew up in the Chicagoland area and attended Illinois State University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. Michele has taught children of many ages from 2nd grade through 8th, serving as a classroom teacher and working with small groups of diverse learners. She earned a Masters Degree in Instructional Strategies from Rockford University.

    Michele resides in Noblesville with her family, including her husband of 17 years, Andy, and their three children, Mia, Brecken, and Bryson. Michele and her family enjoy the Lake of the Ozarks, baseball, horses, and dogs. The Meyer family celebrates their Christian faith at Northview Church in Carmel. Michele feels blessed for the opportunity to share a love of learning and the Lord with her students and families.

    Sarah is an “Indy native” with a Degree in Art & Design from the Art Institute of Indianapolis. She has spent the last 10 years in the design and architecture field but has always had a passion for education and children. She enjoys discovering God's intricate creation through art and how He has created us all with different skills and abilities. Art has been a constant outlet and comfort through her life and she is so excited to share that with others. She resides in Brownsburg with her husband: Kyle and their daughters Avery (8) and Aubree (2).

    Jessica graduated with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education from Indiana State University. She taught for a total of 5 years, 4 in public school, and 1 in a homeschool hybrid program. Jessica resides in Fishers, IN with her husband Joel and their little girl, Max Lynn, and are expecting another little girl this fall. Jessica loves fostering relationships with both students and their families, and believes the most important relationship to foster is the one with Jesus.

  • Preschool-12th Grade Art Resource Teacher

    Alyssa Choplin is an artist, educator, and mother of 4 children. (ages 6,12,14,and 17) She received her Art Education degree through Indiana University in 2001. She then began teaching art in public school (at the elementary and high school levels) until starting a family, where she was fortunate to get to stay at home while they were young. She continued pursuits in art, working on murals, selling art to boutiques, and creating artwork for individual clients. She also started Wild at HeART, an in-home Art Camp and school. Alyssa and her husband are blessed to have finally moved home to Indiana recently after being away for 18 years, living in both Maryland and Arizona. In 2017, she discovered her passion for teaching preschool both in Maryland and here in Indiana. She absolutely adores having the honor to shape the hearts and minds of little ones, helping them mature spiritually, emotionally, and academically. Alyssa has loved Jesus since she was a little girl and was raised by two parents who also deeply love the Lord. She has worked on staff with Young Life, as a director for the Teen Moms ministry YoungLives. She has served in youth ministry in various capacities, spoken at Women’s retreats, served on the prayer team, and sang on the Worship Team. She is currently a coach and worship leader for the Heartland Kids ministry at Heartland Church where she attends with her husband. Alyssa feels that children have the ability to know Jesus and understand many biblical principles from a very young age!

    Stacy was born and raised in Indiana. She attended Ball State University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1993. Her career as an educator has included teaching positions at Traders Point Christian Academy and Our Lady of Grace School. She has also worked as Director of Academic Reading at Sylvan Learning Center, Summer Camp Director at TPCA, and substitute teacher. She and her wonderful husband, David, have been blessed with two amazing children who attended Northpoint. Stacy enjoys creating hands-on learning activities and strives to make learning fun for her students.

    Jeanie graduated from IUPUI with her studies in education and has taught in Lawrence Township for 6 years. She really enjoys working with students and families of the community. Recently, Jeanie earned her Master’s in Curriculum Development with a concentration in English Language Learning at Purdue University. She loves to read historical fiction, take walks with her family, and explore new types of food. She is married to her husband, Donnie, and has a beautiful son, Leland. As a teacher her goal is to make sure each child is seen and loved. Jeanie aims to challenge students academically while developing them as whole people.

    Erica Dick has lived in Indianapolis since 1995. She and husband Ryan were married in May of 2006, and Erica is currently working alongside her husband as he serves as a pastor at Hope Church in Anderson, IN. Erica has three kiddos who fill her life with lots of noise and hilarious dialogue. They are a source of joy, and she appreciates the two-day-a-week schedule at Northpoint that allows her to teach AND be home with her kids most of the week. Erica received her B.A. in Film Studies and Communication from Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana. She graduated with an emphasis in screenwriting and producing, and has had the opportunity to write, direct or produce five short films. She has also written a novel, several children's books, several screenplays and continues to write in her spare time. She has worked at Northpoint since 2007.

    Janice Schmadeke majored in Elementary Education at Purdue University and has her Master‘s in Counseling from Indiana University.

    Throughout her years as an educator, Janice has taught in public and private schools as well as homeschool programs. She has taught all of the subjects in the upper elementary grades, most recently in 5th grade.

    A fun fact about Janice is that she married an IU grad, two of their children went to Purdue, and two went to IU. They have diverse careers: an attorney, a construction project manager, a nurse and a professional musician with a business major. Now she is busy watching her grandchildren grow up! Janice delights in building relationships with her students and their parents. She encourages a mutual respect in the classroom which fosters trust and confidence.

    Teaching Science is an amazing opportunity to learn how to investigate our world and discover the wonders of God’s creation.

  • Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher

    Sarah realized her passion for teaching in high school when she had the opportunity to cadet teach at Lakeview Christian Preschool. After graduating from Pike High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from IUPUI. She and her husband, Timothy have three amazing children: Caleb, Liam, and Anabella. While staying-at-home to raise her children Sarah got involved with Fishers United Methodist Preschool and served as a board member for six years. She also taught as an ENL teacher for Hamilton Southeastern and was a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for Geist Christian Weekday Ministries. Outside of the classroom, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, watching her son on the soccer field, genealogy, and volunteering for animal groups. When her daughter started at Northpoint, Sarah knew she wanted to be a part of the Northpoint family as well. She is excited to create a nurturing environment that is full of engaging hands-on activities!

    Ali was born and raised on the Southside of Indianapolis. She received her Elementary Education degree from IUPUI in 2016 with a Dual License in Reading. Since then, Ali taught for five years in first and second grade at a public school district. This is her third year with Northpoint. She absolutely loves building positive relationships with students and making learning fun and engaging for them. She feels very grateful and blessed to pursue her love for teaching while sharing her love for the Lord. She and her husband, Dalton, recently built their forever home on the same property as her parents and siblings. They welcomed their first son, Walker, in February of 2020. As a family, they enjoy boating, camping and being outdoors!

    Emilye Casteel was recently married to her husband in July 2021 and is originally from a family of six. Fun fact about Emilye: She has twenty-one nieces and nephews! Emilye has grown up attending Christian schools in the Indianapolis area. She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan in 2013 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. She carried this Christian education over into her career while teaching in private schools for a number of years. Emilye has spent most of her career teaching fourth grade. Emilye and her husband, Devonta, currently attend Grace Church and enjoy serving at the Grace Care Center. Emilye assisted with the children's ministry when she was younger and for many years at Grace Church. Emilye and Devonta currently live in Noblesville and met playing board games through Grace. Emilye enjoys sharing her passion for teaching at Northpoint! Emilye loves seeing the students really begin to understand and ask questions about their faith at this age. She feels extremely blessed by this opportunity!

    Born in Ohio, Danielle grew up on a farm passed down by family members for five generations. She moved to Indiana to pursue her education at Anderson University, where she attained a BA in Language Arts Education. After graduation, Danielle taught seventh grade (honors, general, and intervention) language arts classes at Pendleton Heights Middle School for five years. During that time, she married her husband, moved to Fortville, and had a son. Desiring to spend more time with her son, Danielle resigned from her position at the middle school, but continued to pursue other avenues of teaching such as tutoring, teaching ESL classes through VIPKID, and working part-time at a preschool. Danielle and her husband, Brent, currently have three children (two boys and a girl). The oldest son attends Northpoint this year as a kindergartner. Her husband enjoys coaching Hancock county’s Special Olympics basketball and golf teams. Their whole family attends these sporting events t o cheer on Hancock’s athletes. Danielle also enjoys participating in reading groups, writing in her spare time, and traveling back to Ohio to spend time with family. She is passionate about giving her children opportunities to discover God and grow in knowledge and character. Danielle is grateful to be a part of the Northpoint community.

    Lora Schultze grew up in Kentucky and followed Jesus at an early age. She always loved children and babysat and served in kid's ministries during her teen years. Lora received a degree in Elementary Education from Bob Jones University and taught 2nd grade in Waterloo, Iowa until her own children were born. Lora and her husband, Stephen, moved to Indiana in 1999 where her husband became a Pastor at Harbour Shores Church. Lora spent the next few years homeschooling her children (Clay, Will & Alaina), substitute teaching and working in children's ministry whenever possible.

    Lora previously taught Intermediate Math at Northpoint for 12 years. She is thrilled to have returned to the program after taking a year off.

    Brenda was born and raised in Fort Wayne and received an Elementary Education degree from Ball State University. After college she and her husband started a home in Westfield, where she taught at Washington Elementary as a first-grade teacher. With the arrival of their first child, Brenda stepped away from the classroom to become a stay-at-home mom, something she always desired. A few years later their second child was born, and Brenda considers it a privilege and a gift to have spent time at home these past years raising their two daughters. The Brittons chose to homeschool their children, allowing Brenda to utilize her education background at home and within local co-ops and various classes at church. When her children began high school, they attended Northpoint for many courses at that level. Since both of them have graduated, Brenda has enjoyed getting back into the formal classroom to share the discovery of learning with young children. An active member of Venture Christian Church, she appreciates her role as one of the worship pianists. In addition to spending time with family, she also enjoys entertaining, antiquing, and sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

    Jaime received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from IUPUI. She worked in Lawrence township teaching elementary and middle school. Jaime has taught 2nd grade for Northpoint since the elementary school began. She loves making learning fun for the students and her favorite subjects to teach are Bible and science. Jaime appreciates individual learning styles and unique personalities in the classroom. Her classroom is usually involving fun while learning and she loves to laugh with the students. Jaime is married and blessed with 4 amazing children.

    Lauren is married to her best friend, Darren, and together they have her bonus daughter, Story, and their new baby boy, Vinyl. If they aren’t snuggling their dog Vivienne, they are probably spending time with their large family. Lauren grew up as an inner city pastor’s daughter and while growing up in ministry, developed a passion for teaching. She attended IUPUI where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. She taught at New Palestine High School for the past five years and is excited to begin teaching at Northpoint in the fall! Lauren has a passion for creating relationships with young people and bringing education to life while showing them that a relationship with Jesus is the most important relationship in their lives and everything points back to Him. Everything.

  • Classes: Health/Nutrition, Chemistry and Integrated Chemistry and Physics

    Kathryn has a love for Chemistry, Science, Nutrition and Math and enjoys helping students learn to love these subjects. She holds a M.S. from Rutgers in Nutrition Science with published research in three peer-reviewed journals and worked as a clinical nutritionist and nutrition coach. Her B.S. is from Houghton College, where she double majored in Chemistry & General Science and minored in Math. Kathryn worked in analytical laboratory technical sales management for four years before starting a private nutrition consulting practice called Freely Eat. She has had the privilege of homeschooling her four children. Jaron is 21 and working on his master's in Computer Informatics. Kylin is 20 and graduated with her B.S. in International Relations at age 18 and has since completed internships in Cairo, Egypt, and Dallas, Texas. She is currently in Poland, helping with the Ukrainian refugee crisis. Kirra is 18 and graduating with her B.S. in Business and Economics from Liberty University. Kelci is 15 and finishing high school. Kathryn has taught and tutored Chemistry, General Science, ACT test prep, and 5th grade through Pre-Calculus Math for several area cooperatives and a private school. In her free time she enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, playing flute, piano, cooking and reading.

    Leigh Anne was raised in Indiana until age 13 and moved to California where she lived until 2000 when she relocated to Indiana. She

    studied Accounting at Mt. San Antonio College and also earned a certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping.

    California is where she found her love and admiration for the Hispanic culture. She had taken 2 year of Spanish in high school and decided to also take

    it in college. Leigh Anne began teaching a group of home schooled students which led to teaching middle school at Legacy Christian school and the teaching at Northpoint. She taught at Northpoint for several years while her daughter was enrolled and also coached volleyball. In addition, she has interpreted/translated for mission trips, interpreted in the medical field for patients and doctors, case conferences in the public school system in addition to interpreting a court hearing. Her goal is for every student to take the Spanish language skills that they learn to be able to serve their community and travel abroad. Leigh Anne attends Traders Point Christian Church on the West side. She is on worship team there and her husband is a member of the production team. She has two adult children and 2 grandchildren and resides in Avon with her husband Tony.

    Jon Streeter was born and raised in Indianapolis and was active in his local community throughout his high school years. A member of Castleview Baptist Church since 2008, he was involved in the youth ministry for many years and has developed a passion for youth education. He attended Hillsdale College and Oxford University and holds degrees in History, Political Science and Economics. Since 2006 he has taught at Northpoint Homeschool Classes with classes in American and World History, Government, Economics and Debate. He also runs a private tutoring program at Fishers Library for students in Military History and German. In 2014, he joined the staff of Verity Institute, a CLEP-based college program, where he teaches American Politics and both Macro- and Microeconomics. In what little free time he has, he runs a travel company called AET, which organizes educational trips in the United States and Europe and raises money to allow underprivileged high school students the opportunity to travel and “walk in the footsteps of history.

    Heather grew up in Fishers. She graduated from Heritage Christian High School after being primarily homeschooled throughout elementary and middle school. After high school, she went on to study at Anderson University where she majored in Theatre and English knowing that she would go on to pursue a license in education after graduation. Heather earned her teaching license through the Transition to Teaching program at IUPUI in 2010. She went on to marry her husband, Justin, and teach middle school language arts for the Brownsburg School Corporation for the next four years. During this time, she also coached cross-country and track and was a sponsor for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Heather has a passion for literature as well as a love for acting and speaking. She coached the speech team at Hamilton Southeastern High School for three years. Her other passions include spending time with her family and friends, running, and enjoying God’s creation outdoors. She is very thankful to be teaching at Northpoint because it allows her to pursue her calling of being both a teacher and a mom.

    Jodi was born in London, OH. She graduated with honors from Houghton College in 1992 with a B.S. in Biology. She completed her Teacher Certification coursework at Wright State University. Having accepted Christ at a young age, she was very thankful to attend a Christian college that was solid in the areas of science. She taught Biology in both public and Christian high schools in Ohio before having her sons. She homeschooled them both and is thankful for the many opportunities she had to teach through the years in homeschool groups and at church. She and her husband, Jim, have lived in Noblesville for over 20 years and enjoy spending time with their sons, gardening, and watching and coaching sports. They are members of Harbour Shores Church. She is excited for the opportunity to continue serving the Lord by proclaiming His truths demonstrated through His creation and working with the students at Northpoint.

    Megan Taylor graduated with a degree in math education from Taylor University and has taught high school math in both public and private school settings. She loves finding new ways to make the material accessible and relevant to each learner. In addition to developing students' logic and problem solving skills, Megan enjoys showing youth how every topic (even math!) points to a good and holy Creator. A few years ago, Megan took a year off from teaching to do a Discipleship Training School through YWAM. In addition to teaching, Megan is an avid reader and runner and a full time mom to sons, Bennett and Shepherd!

    Barb grew up a southern girl but has lived in Indiana since the 80s. She graduated from Ball State with a B.S. degree in Geography and was on the Dean’s list. Her teaching career began in the early 90s and she has been teaching, subbing, or working in a school ever since. The whole Mross family is very involved in the youth programs at their church, Christ the Savior Lutheran in Fishers. Barb has been a group leader for the Confirmation program for 7th-8th graders, has led VBS, taught Sunday school, and helped with the Youth Praise Band. Barb joined Northpoint’s staff in 2017 and began teaching science in 2020. She is also assistant coach for the Panthers Cheerleaders. Barb and her husband, Steve, were married in 1992 and have 3 wonderful kids. Their 2 sons are grown and their daughter is a Northpoint student, class of 2024.

    Originally from Fort Wayne, Jodi Smith has lived in the Indianapolis area since 2001. She and her husband Eric have been married almost 22 years and have two daughters. Lauren is a freshman education major at Ball State University and Megan is a sophomore at Fishers High School. Jodi has a BA in Diplomacy & Foreign Affairs and German from Miami University (Ohio) and a MA in International Affairs from George Washington University. She plays the clarinet in the Indianapolis Clarinet Ensemble and the White River Wind Symphony and loves attending her daughters' band concerts and competitions. Jodi has been substitute teaching for Hamilton Southeastern Schools for seven years and has been tutoring junior high and high school math students for five years. She loves teaching and is specifically passionate about middle school math. Jodi is excited to share her love of math and problem solving with the students of Northpoint.

  • Classes: 7th-12th Grade Intro to Apologetics, Intro to Philosophy

    Chad grew up in Rochester, New York, as the third of six children. He moved to Missouri where he earned his BA in Bible. Upon graduation he went into full-time ministry with a focus on urban ministry. He moved to Brooklyn, NY where he led a program reaching children and families in the Bronx and Harlem. In 1987 he married Cheryl. A year later they moved to Indianapolis to lead The Caring Place, the outreach program of Calvary Temple. He led that ministry until 2022. Ministering to the urban children and families is where he learned how important it is for people to truly know Christ, which means they must know the Word of God and understand their faith. For then and only then can they be confident in their relationship with him and confidently share that faith with those around them. This is why he has such a love for philosophy, apologetics, and theology and wants young people to understand them. Cheryl and Chad have four children, four children-in-law, and nine grandchildren. In 2018, Chad earned an MA in Philosophy and Apologetics from Lincoln Christian University. In 2022 he transitioned from working at the church to start the iNDY Network, a non-profit focused on creating a community of believers that reach individuals and renew neighborhoods. He is on the board of P30, a non-profit focused on providing space and support for entrepreneurs who are from the far eastside of Indianapolis or are establishing businesses on the far eastside. He has a love of teaching and believes that young people need to discover the truth and the power of the Gospel so they may one day be able to join Paul in stating, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God for salvation” (Ro. 1:16). That is why he loves to teach Philosophy, Apologetics, Theology, and Bible, and to do so in a discussion style that allows young people to experience the truth and the power of the Gospel.

    With nearly thirty years of experience in piano and music theory, a bachelor's degree in Voice from Indiana Wesleyan University, and incalculable hours of performance experience, Nathaniel Hood has had a rich passion for music cultivated within him. Music is a wonderful device that allows us to serve and communicate with God, and Nathaniel loves to come alongside students and help them discover this truth. He is a multi-instrumentalist, a novelist, a worship leader, a skateboarder, the father of two cats, and the happy husband of his wife, Audrey. His free time, if not full of the things previously mentioned, goes to reading, running, and playing video games. Nathaniel also plays in a number of local rock bands and loves to play and listen to music of all genres. He is ecstatic to bring the gift of music to the students of Northpoint and to glorify God through the whole process.

    Bobbi Sue graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Development at Frederick Community College in 1998 and took some classes at Vincennes University (Deaf Studies program) taking ASL Literature, ASL Linguistics, Deaf Culture & Community, ASL Features I and II. She also taught ASL classes at Horizon Christian School for two years. She moved to Indiana in 2001 when her late husband got a job at Indiana School for the Deaf. She is blessed to have 4 children; Ashley, Ashton, Ashlanna and Asher. Shereally enjoys teaching ASL and seeing her students thrive in ASL.

    In her free time, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her family, cooking and traveling. She is thankful to be part of the Northpoint community.
